About Mykola J. Bartkiw, D.O.

Dr. Mykola J. Bartkiw is a Board Certified Orthopedic Surgeon with additional fellowship training in hand and microsurgery. He is an active member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and has a Certificate of Added Qualifications (CAQH) in hand surgery.

Bartkiw graduated Magna Cum Laude from Aquinas College in Grand Rapids, MI. He received his medical degree from Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. After residency in orthopedic surgery, through Michigan State University-Pontiac, he completed fellowship at the premier Indiana Hand to Shoulder Center. He has additional training in Advanced Microsurgery through Indiana University School of Medicine.

Dr. Bartkiw was recognized for excellence for multiple years (2016-2023) in the Hour Detroit magazine’s Top Docs issue and honored for his work in Hand Surgery.
His practice focuses on conditions affecting the hand/wrist/arm and upper extremity. He uses advanced techniques to diagnose and provide optimal treatment to his patients.

Bartkiw is also an Assistant Clinical Professor at the Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is actively involved in the education of medical students and orthopedic surgery residents. He has authored several articles and book chapters on orthopedic trauma, upper extremity surgery and related subjects. He provides lectures on the local/state and national level for various professional groups regarding his specialty.
