Motion Preserving Disc Replacement

Dr. Michael Donahue is committed to offer his patients newer, but proven treatments to ensure he can provide patients with optimal care solutions. The vast majority of patients fully recover from their symptoms without surgical intervention, and Dr. Donahue’s team is skilled at guiding patients as they explore non-surgical treatment modalities.  Should non-surgical options not be successful, however, patients with significant disease or degeneration can require a surgical procedure.

When Dr. Donahue found himself suffering from degenerative disc disease in his own cervical spine, he also utilized non-surgical means to combat his symptoms. When these conservative treatments failed, he opted for a disc replacement, a newer, but proven technology that replaces a diseased disc with a device that enables motion within the spine. This technology has been shown to relieve symptoms in patients while enabling motion and reducing adjacent-level degeneration and re-operations.  As a result of his disc replacement, he’s able again to pursue his active lifestyle and passion for boating and golfing. He’s now seen first-hand a patient’s journey starting with symptoms, followed by non-surgical treatments, then surgical care, and finally post-surgical recovery to regain an active life.

Total Disc Replacements are just one surgical treatment used to manage diseases of the spine.  Dr. Donahue’s team have comprehensive experience and a passion to help you:
