About Allen R. Prince, D.O.

Dr. Allen R. Prince received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from the University of Michigan and graduated Cum Laude in 1976. He received a Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Michigan in 1977 and his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Missouri in 1982. He completed his orthopedic surgical residency at Pontiac Osteopathic Hospital in 1988.

Dr. Prince completed a fellowship in arthroscopy and sports medicine with the President of the Arthroscopy Association of North America. Dr. Prince is Board Certified in Orthopedic Surgery and specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of knee and shoulder disorders.

He is a member of the American Osteopathic Association, Michigan Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons, American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, American College of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons and the American Association of Physician Specialists.

He is an Associate Clinical Professor of Orthopedics at Michigan State University. He is also a fellow of the American Association of Physician Specialists and was selected as their Physician of the Year in 2001. He was named McLaren Oakland Hospital Trainer of the Year for 2013-14.

He is currently Chairman for Board Certification AAPS and is also a member of the Board of Trustees at McLaren Oakland Hospital. He was the founder of the Product Evaluation Committee at Crittenton Hospital as well as founder of the Surgical Suite Committee at McLaren Oakland Hospital (formerly POH Regional Medical Center).
